Question Title What ports are used by the Workbench for communications to xCoupler module & for the xCoupler for communication to the database, etc ?

Fact       FAQ - xCoupler WORKBENCH PORTS
Ethernet_Ports_details
Fix

FOR THE WORKBENCH TO THE xCOUPLER MODULE:

TCP and UDP ports are used by Workbench

The workbench requires 2 ports to communicate with the runtime module:

  1. TCP Port 4003 - The main communication channel.   This channel is encrypted.
  2. UDP Port 4004 - UDP messages are used for enumeration of modules in the "scan" panels in the workbench.

No dynamic ports are used in the configuration of the product.

 i.e.

  1. ALLOW DEST.PORT=4003 AND PROTO=TCP
  2. ALLOW (SRC.PORT=4004 OR DEST.PORT=4004) AND PROTO=UDP

Fix

FOR THE xCOUPLER MODULE TO THE DATABASES/MQ/etc:

The xCoupler's TRANSPORT defines the port that the xCoupler needs to have access to these devices (See the TRANSPORT EDIT screen).

So provide the ADMINISTRATION / NETWORK CONFIGURATION screen information and the above TRANSPORT information to your NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR.
